Bring things in with Sync

Sync connects a page to your accounts on Notion, Calendly, Cal.com, Mailchimp and Shopify, and brings what you have there onto the page. It only reads: nothing is ever written back.

What each service brings in

ServiceWhat comes in
NotionPages as draft Issue posts, and a database’s rows as products or questions.
CalendlyYour event types, in a Book a call block. Visitors book on Calendly.
Cal.comYour event types, in a Book a call block. Visitors book on Cal.com.
MailchimpYour audience, as Issue email subscribers. Each person confirms by email before they get a post.
ShopifyYour products, in a Products block. Buyers check out on Shopify.

Connect a service

Open Sync, select Connect on a service and approve Carya on the service’s own screen. Shopify asks for your Store address and a Storefront access token instead: in Shopify, add the Headless channel, create a storefront and copy its public token. Each page connects its own accounts. People who can edit the page connect its services, and only the page’s owner connects Mailchimp.

Notion lets Carya read only what you share with it: in Notion, open a page or a database, then Connections, and add Carya. To stop, select Disconnect. Carya deletes its access to your account, and what you already brought in stays on your page.

Fill a block

With a service connected, a button in the inspector, above the block’s items, fills it: Fill from Shopify on a Products block, Fill from Calendly or Fill from Cal.com on a Book a call block, and Fill from Notion on a Products block or an FAQ. What comes in replaces the block’s items in one step you can undo, and becomes ordinary content on your page. No script from the service runs there.

What a refresh does and doesn’t do

A filled block doesn’t follow the service afterwards. When a price, a product or an event type changes, fill the block again, then publish.

A Notion page you bring in as a post stays linked to it. A change you make in Notion comes into the post’s draft on its own, as long as nobody edited the post in Carya since it last came in and the change brings no new images. Otherwise Sync shows Changed in Notion: select Sync now. If the post was edited in Carya, Carya asks before it replaces those edits. A sync only ever changes the draft: the live post stays as it is until you publish.

Mailchimp imports once. Carya reads the audience you pick, sends each person a confirmation email, then deletes its access. People who unsubscribed before aren’t added back. It needs Issue email, which isn’t open yet.
