Insights

See who visits your page and what brings them, counted without cookies, so your visitors never see a cookie banner because of Carya.

What Insights shows

Open Insights, pick the page if you have more than one, and pick a range. Each number is compared with the range before it.

  • Visitors and Page views, with a chart of views and sales by day.
  • Stayed to look: the share of visits that had your page in view for 10 seconds in all, or scrolled down at least half a screen. A glance or a mistaken tap is neither.
  • Sales and Visit to sale, the share of visits that ended in a paid order. From visit to sale shows visits, checkouts started and orders paid.
  • Top pages, Sources and Channels: where visitors came from. See Where visitors came from.
  • AI crawlers, on a page that stays out of AI training: the training crawlers that came anyway and were turned away. See AI training and AI answers.

Paid orders and sales count only payments through Carya checkout. Payments by QR code, checkout link or WhatsApp aren’t counted. See How payouts work.

What each plan shows

PlanHow far backWhat’s in it
Free7 daysVisitors, views, Stayed to look, sales, top pages, the top 5 sources, channels and AI crawlers
Plus30 daysThe same as Free
Pro and TeamsA yearEverything, plus Live now, every list, sales by source and CSV exports

On Pro and Teams, Live now shows how many people are on your page right now, and a live map shows where, city by city. The lists add every source, countries, devices, browsers (an app’s own browser by the app’s name, such as Instagram), links clicked, files downloaded and campaign links. Sales by source shows where the buyers’ visits came from, and Export CSV saves the days or the lists. Free and Plus see what Pro adds in their place.

A page’s Insights follow its owner’s plan. Moving to a smaller plan hides what’s past its range and deletes nothing: Carya keeps each day’s totals for 13 months.

When a page takes off

When a page gets far more visitors in an hour than it usually does at that hour, Home and Insights say so, with where most of them came from. The alert shows for a day, once a week per page at most, and only once the page has a week of visits to compare with. Everyone who can read the page’s Insights sees it. Turn these alerts off on the alert itself, or in Settings › Notifications.

Weekly Insights email

Turn on Weekly Insights in Settings › Emails for an email on Monday mornings with each of your live pages’ visitors last week and where they came from. It comes only in weeks with visitors, and stays off until you turn it on.

Where visitors came from

Each visit gets one source, such as Instagram, Google, WhatsApp or QR code, and Carya names it from the first of these that says something:

  1. A tag on your link: utm_source, or Carya’s own ref. Short tags are understood, so ig, instagram and IG_story all read Instagram. A tag Carya doesn’t know shows as you wrote it.
  2. A paid ad’s click: Google Ads, TikTok Ads or Microsoft Ads. Carya notes only which kind of ad, never the click’s code.
  3. The site the visitor came from, such as Google in any country, or an AI assistant like ChatGPT or Perplexity.
  4. The app the visitor opened your page in: Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, Facebook, LINE and other apps that open links in their own browser.
  5. A link Facebook or Instagram marked, which reads Facebook.
  6. Otherwise, Direct.

Channels groups the sources: Social, Messaging, Search, AI assistants, Email, QR and print, Ads, Other and Direct.

Your page’s day

Days run midnight to midnight in the page’s own time zone, which starts as your browser’s the first time you publish or open Insights. Change it at the foot of Insights. Anyone who can publish the page can.

How visits are counted

Your published page loads Carya’s small visitor counter from its own address. The counter keeps nothing on the visitor’s device: no cookie, no storage and no ID.

  • Page views count every load, your own and repeat ones included.
  • A visitor is counted once a day. Carya can’t tell it’s the same person the next day, so a range’s visitors are each day’s added up.
  • A visit is one visitor’s run of activity, until 30 minutes pass with nothing.
  • Bots aren’t counted as visitors or views. Carya tells a bot from a person by the name its browser gives, and a browser a script drives counts as a bot too.
  • One visitor’s flood of events, past 120 in a minute, isn’t counted.

What Insights keeps

To tell visitors apart within a day, the counter mixes a visitor’s IP address and browser with a random value that changes every day and is deleted when the day ends. Insights keeps only the result, never the IP address or the browser’s full details. With each view it keeps the page, the address the visitor came from without its query string, campaign tags, the source and channel, the kind of browser, system and device (an app’s own browser by the app’s name), the screen width and the country. It notes which kind of ad click brought a visit, never the click’s code, and whether the visitor scrolled down half a screen. To help spot bots, Carya also notes whether a visit came through a hosting company’s network; only Carya sees that, never a page’s Insights.

For the live map, Carya keeps each view’s approximate city, rounded to about 10 km, for less than an hour. A phone on an Indonesian mobile network shows as Indonesia, without a city.
