Collect messages with a form
Add a form so visitors can send you their name, email, WhatsApp number or a message, right from your page.
Add a form
- Add a Form block.
- Choose its fields: name, email, phone number and message. Visitors have to fill in every field you add.
- Set the Submit button text and the Success message visitors see after sending.
A form built from Pieces
- Add a Form Piece.
- Under Asks for, pick what it asks: name, email, WhatsApp number and message, one at least. Visitors fill in each one. Change the words each asks with, if you like.
- Select Add a question for up to four questions of your own. Each takes a short or a long answer, and can be one visitors may skip.
- Write what visitors read once they’ve sent it under Once sent. The form’s heading and its Send button are typed on the page like any other words.
Its messages go to Messages, like any form’s. It has no destination URL. You can add it on any plan, but on Free it shows closed on your page, and Publish says so. It opens when the page’s owner moves to a paid plan, without publishing again.
Where messages go
Carya keeps every message. Home shows the latest four under Messages. Select All messages, or open Messages in the side menu, for the latest 100 on the page. Select a message to read every answer, mark it handled, move it to Spam or delete it. Mark all as spam moves everything the inbox shows to Spam, and nothing there is deleted: you can move a message back. Select Export to save the list as a CSV file.
Each new message is also emailed to the people on the page who can read its messages: its owners, admins and editors. The email shows the visitor’s name and message, not the email address or phone number they left. When messages come fast, one email goes every five minutes with the rest together. Message emails are on until you turn them off in Settings › Emails. See Emails from Carya.
To send each message from a Form block on as it arrives, paste an address into Destination URL (ESP / webhook), for example from your email tool or an automation service. Carya posts every submission there as JSON:
{
"handle": "nadia",
"blockId": "…",
"data": {
"name": "Ayu",
"phone": "0812…",
"message": "Hi, is the blue one still available?"
}
}Spam and limits
- A hidden field catches most bots: anything that fills it is dropped.
- Carya reads each message’s name and words once for spam, never the email address or phone number left. A message it judges spam goes to Spam, with no email, and you can move it back.
- Each answer takes up to 2,000 characters.
- A page takes up to 20 messages a minute and 100 an hour.
