What you can’t put on Carya

You own your Carya. Your creations are your property. Carya is merely a place for you to put it.

The rules

What isn’t allowed on Carya, how Carya handles reports and how to ask for a review are in the Content policy. You’re responsible for what you publish and sell.

Automatic checks

Carya checks what you publish against these rules: pages, Issue posts, uploaded pictures, sketches and marks. Drafts are never checked. When a check finds something serious, it pauses part of your page until a person has looked:

  • Page paused: the page goes offline, and visitors read that it isn’t available right now. This is for pages that look like phishing, illegal gambling, a scam or support for a violent group.
  • Checkout paused: visitors still see the page, but its Buy buttons and contact forms take nothing, link previews show a plain card, and it stays out of search. This is for sexual content, weapons, drugs and counterfeits. Art with nudity is allowed on a page marked Mature.

You get an email, and the Editor and Home show the notice with what the check found and, when it knows, where. If it’s a mistake, ask a person to review with the button under the notice. You can still edit the page, and publishing again keeps the pause until a person has looked. When a person clears it, the page comes back as it was and you get an email.

While a page on your account is paused, new pages and changes go live once Carya has checked them, checkout is paused on all your pages, and you can start one new page a day.

If Carya takes a page down

Carya takes a page offline when a report shows it breaks these rules. Then:

  • The page goes offline and back to a draft in your Editor. Carya can remove illegal or harmful content for good, so keeping the draft isn’t guaranteed.
  • You get one email that names the page and tells you how to appeal.
  • Home and the Editor show the notice and Publish is off in both. Publishing the page, or any of its posts, from anywhere else is refused with the same message.

A takedown stays until Carya allows republishing. To appeal, select Ask a person to review under the notice, say why, and add links if you have them, or write to safety@carya.page with your page’s address. You get a reference by email and the date a person decides by: within 14 business days. If Carya allows republishing, the notice goes away and you can publish the page again. It stays a draft until you do.

The takedown stays with the address too. Deleting the page doesn’t lift it: a new page at the same handle starts taken down, and nobody else can claim the handle until Carya allows republishing. A pause, a country withholding or Carya’s Mature mark stays the same way: your next page at that handle starts with it.
