One page, one job

Before you pick a template, decide the one thing a visitor should do when they land.

The Carya teamOctober 20261 min readMaking

A page that tries to do everything asks its visitors to choose, and most people won't. Pick one job first: order the sambal, book a session, read the new issue, come to the gig.

Write the job down

Finish this sentence before you add a single block: someone who lands here should… If you need two verbs to finish it, you have two pages. Make both.

Put it at the top

The button that does the job goes near the top, in words that say what happens next: Order on WhatsApp, Get the zine, Save my seat. Everything under it is there to help someone press it.

Let the rest help

  • Photos show what they're getting.
  • Prices answer the question before anyone asks it.
  • A few lines about you make it feel safe to buy.

Anything that doesn't help with the job can live on another page. Or nowhere.

Isn't Carya just Carrd?

Short answer: no. Carrd makes beautiful one-page sites. Carya is a place for your creations: what you make, write and sell, on pages you own.

Your page is plain HTML

When you publish, Carya turns your blocks into a static page of HTML and CSS. Nothing has to start up before your visitors can read it.
